About

I am a Staff Missionary at 2 Pillars Church, a church plant in the downtown heart of Nebraska’s capital city. I also dabble in higher education as a college recruitment professional.

This is my personal blog. I write about leadership, productivity and time management, ministry, church and church planting, and social media. Admittedly, there may also be an occasional post about the Huskers and other unrelated topics.

I’ll be honest with you – I’m a relatively young guy with a lot to learn. I don’t claim to offer sage advice or wisdom here. I’m not an expert, guru, or ninja. My goal here is simply to develop as a Christian, as a man, as a leader and to share what I learn along the way.

My Bio

In June 2010 I stepped away from my position as the Assistant Director for Special Communications in the Office of Admissions at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, my alma mater. I worked professionally in higher education recruitment for five-and-a-half years. Though I enjoyed my time in higher education a great deal, I left to pursue a clear sense of calling into pastoral ministry.

Last summer (2011), I wrapped up the Missional Leadership program at the Resurgence Training Center (Re:Train), based in Seattle, WA. I am currently in the process of fundraising for my full-time, support-based staff position at 2 Pillars Church.  My wife, Kalee, and I also serve as house parents for my college fraternity.

Kalee and I have been married for four years and live in Lincoln where she teaches high school Spanish. We love God, love our church, love our city, are unapologetic Husker fans, and can often be seen wearing matching shirts on Saturdays in the Fall (see photo).
